Collections

The collection contains correspondents, a diary, genealogy, photographs, and printed materials, documenting the West-Callis family. The West-Callis family is a Virginia family, that includes Georgianna Calllis, daughter of William Callis and Elizabeth (Simmons) of Norfolk, Virginia. Her husband Albert West, who served in the Confederate Army building arsenals.

Digital photographs, video recordings, oral history recordings and transcripts, folk music recordings and more collected as part of the West Virginia Folklife Program at the West Virginia Humanities Council. These recordings and files were generated by folklore fieldwork and programs conducted by the West Virginia Folklife Program state folklorist and other West Virginia Humanities Council staff, interns, and contracted professional folklorists and photographers.

Includes records generated by West Virginia University's College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (CPASS), which is now known as the College of Applied Human Sciences, School of Sport Sciences. The collection reflects everyday internal operations, staff and leadership activities, administrative plans and reports, outreach and community events, the CPASS Hall of Fame and other college events/awards, the development of campus facilities used by CPASS and WVU Athletics, and other subjects. Common material types include photographs, scrapbooks, bound reports, printed notes and correspondence, event programs and bulletins, magazines, and newspaper clippings. Also includes some digital material on the Masters of Legal Studies program.

All reports from the 1995 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Survey and Transition Plan undertaken by the Division of Campus Engagement and Compliance (then known as the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). The self-survey and transition plan are required of all institutions with more than 50 employees to discern accessibility issues in facilities, programs, services, activities, and events, to determine compliance with the ADA, and to outline a plan to remedy the identified barriers to access.

This collection contains administrative records of the West Virginia and Regional History Center. The material includes correspondence, monthly and annual reports, visitor and acquisition statistics, Center policies and procedures, and records of preservation activities. There are also records regarding renovations and additions to WVU Libraries, and other general library documentation.

Subject files containing newspaper clippings related to West Virginia University from the 1880s to approximately 2006. Most articles are from the 1960s and 1970s. Subjects include campus athletics, buildings, graduating classes, committees, facilities, faculty and faculty publications, organizations, the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system, and special events.
