Acc. 1984.066: Biennial budget exhibits including justifications, revenue estimates, capital outlay requests, and budget summaries for 1962-68 and 1972-76.

Includes a sampling of the printing work done by Pioneer Press and Hill & Dale Private Press and Typefoundry, such as books, posters, printed artwork, event programs, corporate mail solicitations, magazines, and stationery. The collection also features materials related to Hopkins's work as a member of the American Typecasting Fellowship (ATF), including several copies of newsletters, all printed and distributed by Hopkins at Hill & Dale, and his own publications about the art of printing. Additionally, the collection includes a scrapbook completed by Lynda Hopkins circa 1953 regarding West Virginia history and culture. Much of Hopkins's commercial work done at Pioneer Press is focused on local history, regional organizations, and other WV- or WVU-related content. These materials are located in series 1. The Hill & Dale materials are more often related to Hopkins's passion for the art and history of printing, letterpress, type, and typefaces. These materials, along with ATF newsletters, Hopkins's own published books, and similar items, are located in series 2.

Assorted photographic negatives, lithographic film positives, and other material from the Richwood News Leader, a newspaper founded by Jim Comstock in Richwood, WV (1947). Also includes several prints, contact sheets, and other material generated as part of the publishing of "Jim Comstock: Collection IV -- Hillbillies, Coal, and Mountain Lions" by Mark Romano and Anne Johnson.

This collection contains the papers of poet, author, publisher, and political activist Robert White Anbian (1949-2022). Anbian graduated from the University of Virginia in 1971, after which he spent three years in Niger with the Peace Corps from 1974 to 1977. He then relocated to San Francisco, where he worked as a writer and poet until his death. From 1985 to 1996, Robert served as the editor of the monthly Film Arts Foundation magazine, Release Print, and the publicist for an independent filmmaker education and advocacy group. He founded his own publishing house, Night Horn Books. Anbian published three poetry collections: WE Parts 1 & 2 (Night Horn Books, 1999), Antinostalgia (Ruddy Duck Press, 1992), and Bohemian Airs & Other Kêfs (Night Horn Books, 1982).

This collection contains: newspaper clippings about Hurricane Camille; a record of a song recorded by J. Mark Jones about the night of the hurricane; three copies of a report titled "Reaction of Flood Victims in Rockbridge County, Virginia" by a Washington and Lee class in Research Methods and Politics and Sociology; and a poster advertising the 50th anniversary commemoration of Hurricane Camille.

This collection contains brochures, premium books, newspaper supplements, and other advertisements for Rockbridge County fairs and festivals.

This collection contains official records of the organization, such as annual reports, as well as various papers, including event invitations, mailed pamphlets, the organization's newsletter, and photocopies of newspaper articles. It also contains two envelopes of animal photographs, some of which are used in the mailed pamphlets. Also included is the July 27, 2022, News-Gazette obituary for Jane Cornett, who was the Executive Director of the SPCA for many years.
