Collections

The collection contains approximately 15 linear feet of material related to the history of Merrill's Marauders as compiled by the Merrill's Marauders Proud Descendants Association, including General Orders (copies), Special Orders (copies), news articles and clippings (originals and copies), documents from the National Archives (copies), records of attendance at Association meetings, original photographs, oral histories on compact disc, various A/V items including movies and television specials, and a Database of soldier names in digital format.

Records of Virginia First Lady Pamela Northam, 2018-2021, are housed in two boxes and are arranged alphabetically. These records document the work of the First Lady and include, but are not limited to agendas, budget requests, correspondence, executive orders, governor decision requests, legislation, meeting briefs, memoranda, notes, presentations, promotional materials, schedules, speeches and talking points.

The Secretary of Transportation records, 2018-2021, consist of 14 archival boxes and are divided into 8 series. Series have been designated for Correspondence - Assigned State Agencies (I), Correspondence - Constituent (II), Correspondence - Secretary (III), Commonwealth Transportation Board (IV), Governor Decision Requests (V), Subject files (VI), Files of Quintin Elliott, Dep. Sec. of Transportation (VII) and Files of John Lawson, Dep. Sec. of Transportation (VIII). These records document the work of Secretary of Transportation Shannon Valentaine during the Northam administration and were created or collected, 2018-2021, though some documents in this collection pre-date this time period.

Register of Regulation records, 1937-2021, of the Virginia Code Commission contain information relating to the development, review and approval of published and unpublished regulations that form the Virginia Administrative Code. The Virginia Administrative Code has the full force of law and is created by any state agency that is permitted to create regulations and must follow the procedures put forth in the Virginia Administrative Process Act. These records may include notices of intent, drafts of proposed regulations, economic impact analysis, request for comments, the final regulations, meeting notices, form, errata notices, documents both included and cited as precedent, emergency action material generated documents and other technical support material generated during the process to develop and approve the regulation.
