Description:
The Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) houses one of the largest and most significant collections of rare and unique materials of any educational institution of comparable size in the United States. Focused on Virginia history but with nationally and internationally important collections, the Manuscripts Collection includes letters, diaries, journals, scrapbooks, business records, organizational minutes, and other items that provide evidence of events great and small and the daily lives of Americans of all backgrounds. The Rare Books Collection, with volumes dating from the 15th century to the present, is strong in dogs, Virginia-related items, early Virginia family libraries, gardening and natural history, religion, book arts, printing history, travel, science, and medicine. The University Archives documents the history of William & Mary from 1693 to the present, including a wide range of materials from administrative records, student organization records, and alumni papers to photographs, audio-visual materials, and artifacts.

Muscarelle Museum of Art records, 1981/2024 5.51 Linear Feet

The collection is composed of materials documenting the public activities of the Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary. It includes fliers, catalogs and booklets from exhibits, dedications, classes, calendars, press releases, newsletters, and annual reports that were previously part of the University Archives Publications Collection. Also included are material from the "So Good a Design" exhibit primarily about the Wren Building and proposals for a Fine and Performing Arts Complex.

Mustafa Malik Designs T-shirt, 2014

1-black t-shirt that features an abstract design resembling a cow's head in silver with a white outline. Above the design "MUSTAFA" is printed in black with a white and silver outline. Below the design "MALIK" is printed in black with white and silver outline. Below "MALIK" "DESIGNS™" is printed in white. "CLOTHING THAT DUZ DA BODY GOOD™" is printed in white below "DESIGNS™." This shirt is a 25th Anniversary MMD (Mustafa Malik Designs) Retro T-shirt design. It was received by Swem Special Collections staff during the 2nd Annual Hip Hop Collection Celebration at the College of William and Mary on April 3, 2014. The t-shirt is made of 100% cotton and is a size large. It is in excellent condition. Gift of Mustafa Malik Shabazz. HHC 2014.187
