Records of the West Virginia University University Club (previously known as the Faculty Club), including bylaws, photographs, newsletters, brochures, and other material

Assorted records of the University Events department of West Virginia University, including assorted photograph albums of various university events, a sizeable collection of Cat's Meow Village collectible standees of WVU buildings and buildings across West Virginia, a signed soccer ball, and other material.

The collection contains materials from the West Virginia University Women's Studies Center, now called the Center for Women's and Gender Studies. Materials include financial documents, organization records, newspaper clippings, correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, posters, and textiles. The earliest materials in the collection are letters from the first women to attend West Virginia University in 1885 prior to their admittance to the university in 1889. The latest materials include papers used by the West Virginia Women's Studies Center in their outreach and activity groups in 2002. The collection was divided into fifteen series based upon legacy titles provided with the original transfer of materials as well as addendums and restricted materials:

Correspondence and photocopied newspaper clippings regarding the Woodburn Hall clock bell. Charles Scott, the husband of the compiler, found a small wooden ball in the trash at Woodburn Hall in 1957 and believed it to be related to the clock bell. Includes the results of research conducted for the compiler by librarians and others, most notably a letter from a third-generation bellmaker giving a brief history of his family's business.

Two articles by Henry W. Gould, Professor of Mathematics at West Virginia University, with related material. One of the articles, "History of the Old Telescope and Observatory at West Virginia University", was originally published in 1967 and regards the early study of astronomy at the university ca. 1872-1919. Related is a one page article, which references Gould's, regarding the burning of the old observatory in 1919. The other article by Gould is a six-page paper entitled "Where Has Gone Our Sense of Humor", with a related letter from Joseph C. Gluck to Gould, regarding the UVA Pep Band controversy.
