Primary Collecting Areas:
SCRC collects materials related to George Mason University, Northern Virginia, performing arts, transportation and planning, and photography. SCRC collects oral histories pertaining to Northern Virginia; the Federal Theatre Project; Reston, Virginia; and George Mason University's history. It currently conducts an active oral history program.
Description:
Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) is the unit within the University Libraries charged with acquiring, documenting, preserving, and providing access to primary research collections and documents. SCRC also manages the non-current and archival records of George Mason University, is responsible for the preservation and access to the University's theses and dissertations, and undertakes, through its Oral History program, the creation of audiovisual documentary resources. SCRC services, collections, and programs support the teaching and research activities of George Mason University and also serve the community at large.

East German poster collection film series, 1947/1995

These posters document the cinematic heritage of the DDR and represent the films through both abstract works and interpretations of scenes from the films. The posters range in size from 21 x 57.5 cm to 84 x 59.5 cm. Although the posters date from 1947-1995, the majority fall between 1950 and 1990.

100 Jahre National-Galerie, 1976

This poster shows a set of marble steps leading up to an entrance containing a sculpture of two women in robes. Two white columns flank either side of the entrance. It is for a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National-Gallery in Berlin.

This poster shows a painting of three women standing next to a young boy. The boy is wearing a green uniform with gold buttons and a matching cap. The woman are all wearing long overcoats of different colors. The woman in a yellow coat is holding a fan and has her arm around the young boy. It is for an exhibition featuring paintings and graphic art by Alber Ebert at the Moritzburg State Gallery in Halle (August 15 - October 24, 1976).
