This collection consists primarily of correspondence with Stuart K. Cassell, first Vice President for Administration (1966-1975). There is a large amount of material concerning budget and other financial matters, as well as construction, buildings and grounds maintenance, and other physical plant matters. The collection also contains Cassell's records as Business Manager, 1945-1966. Because the bulk of the material concerns Cassell's position as Vice President for Administration, but the material is interfiled, the records have been kept together as one collection under RG 6/1/1.

This collection consists primarily of correspondence relating to Dr. Louis A. Pardue's duties both as Vice-President and Director of Graduate Studies. Materials consist of general correspondence, general reports, financial reports, enrollment statistics, commencement and inaugural reports, minutes, and departmental information collected by Pardue from 1950 through 1963. There are extensive correspondence and other material of the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Science (ORINS), of which VPI was a member and Pardue served on the Council and Board of Directors.

However, it also includes many of his files from his period as Executive Vice-President (1968-1969) as well as material from his term as Vice-President and Dean of the Graduate School (1963-1965). There is material and correspondence concerning budget matters, Center for Research in College Instruction of Science and Math, Corps of Cadets, the Dean of Students, EDUCOM, Engineering Experiment Station, ROTC, Student Government Association, Student Activities Committee, Summer School, and Visiting Scholars Program.

The collection documents the history of the Virginia Tech Amateur Radio Association since its founding in 1913 to encourage an understanding of and an interest in amateur radio, to provide a station for the uses of club members, and to provide emergency and public service communications. The collection consists of certificates, logs, membership lists, correspondence, publications, violations, registration forms, yearly recollections, and copies of radio licenses. There are also photographs and negatives, including items removed from a scrapbook.

This collection includes miscellaneous pamphlets and booklets about VPI and other universities in Virginia.

The Records of the Virginia Tech Dairy Science Complex, RG 13/8/1, contains 23 ledgers about the dairy herds in the Department of Dairy Science farms from 1916 to 1969, with the bulk dating 1948 to 1968. The ledgers include information about breeding records, calfing, feeding records, pedigrees, and general health of the university's dairy cows. Some ledgers contain certificates and awards from the VT Dairy Science Complex.

There are also a few pamphlets detailing the dedication and commemoration of the chapel, as well as records from the chapel after it was opened.
