This collection includes business and personal papers of W. Graham Claytor, a 1906 graduate of Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (later Virginia Polytechnic Institute) and an executive overseeing the operations of a number of American Gas and Electric Company subsidiaries during the 20th century. It includes correspondence, reports, and printed materials relating to personal financial matters, business operations, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and ham radio.

Includes typescripts "The History of Principio and Iron Hill", clippings on J.J. Holloway, Earl Oglebay, Alexander Glass, Josiah Fox, and the iron and steel industry of the Wheeling area. Also includes sheet music for the theme song of the Wheeling Musical Steelmakers titled "Got a Feeling, I'll Be Stealing Back to Wheeling, West Virginia" by Bob Ellsworth. Also contains an issue of Time Magazine with an advertisement for Wheeling Steel's COP-R-LOY pipe on p. 41 (1928).

It's Wheeling Steel (Radio program)
Records of the "It's Wheeling Steel" radio program. Includes photographs (1930s-1940s, 5 in.), program scripts (1937-1944, 5 in.), clippings and magazines (1930s-1940s, 3 in., including Life Magazine of March 21, 1938 with article featuring the radio program), and scrapbooks containing clippings and photographs (1930s-1940s, 3 in.). Also includes original audio transcription discs of the program (1930s-1940s, 7 ft., 6 in.), and reel-to-reel/cassette preservation copies of the transcription discs (1936-1944, 34 ft., ca. 620 reels). Wheeling Steel
Annual reports issued to stockholders summarizing the economic status of the Wheeling Steel Corporation. Official news bulletins for management personnel entitled "Its Wheeling Steel." It is and intra-company newsletter containing reports, policy statements, recommendations, and announcements. Also a volume of the term loan and revolving credit agreement with the supplemental indenture (fifth) to the first mortgage and deed of trust. This 1967 compilation by Hale D. Fox records the credit agreements to resolve indebtedness arranged with major financial institutions such as Chase Manhattan Bank.

White Day Glades Tannery
A ledger of customers, prices, dates and worked completed by a Taylor County tannery, mill and store owned and operated by the Corrothers family. The mill turned out a variety of leather products ranging from boots to book bindings. Included are entries on repair work particularly shoe repairs. There are also receipts of this mill with an address at McConkey, WV, especially tax receipts. Also included are photos of William A. C. Corrothers and a genealogy of his family.

The White Flint Farm records (1861-1969; 1.5 cubic feet) document the titular farm's business purchases and tobacco sales. Materials primarily consist of account ledgers and various receipts of purchase and sale, all primarily from the Danville area.

Whittle-Greene Papers 4.50 Linear Feet

Papers of Cloe Tyler Whittle Greene. Mostly diaries, 1855-1924, before and after her marriage to John Newport Greene. Also includes printed cards, photographs, verse, newspapers, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, and prints of colonial and Civil War figures. Topics covered by the diaries include secession, Civil War, Reconstruction, travel, life in Norfolk, Virginia and marriage.
