Materials include photocopies and color copies of Socialist Party items from the national and local levels: booklet entitled "What Socialism Will Really Mean to You" by Lawrence Benjamin, published by the Socialist Party, ca. 1936; a 1911 letter requesting an official charter to become the 6th Ward Branch of the Ohio County Socialist Party which includes names, addresses, and offices held; an incomplete report from the 6th Ward; Valentine Reuther's business card; two season tickets to the League for Industrial Democracy Discussion Lectures (1937); a list of names and addresses titled "8th Ward"; Socialist Party accounting receipts (1911-15); and two blank Socialist Party membership cards. The materials suggest that one of the Reuthers was a member of the 6th or 8th Ward of Ohio County at this time. Also includes photocopies of articles related to Bill, Valentine, and Walter Reuther and their connection to Wheeling, West Virginia (1998-2006).

A collection assembled on behalf of the WVU College of Arts and Sciences by Dr. Barbara Howe, WVU Department of History, for the Centennial History Project. Most of the records relate to the Humanities program at West Virginia University. Includes mostly copies of materials from former students, as well as transcriptions of interviews with former faculty or their spouses.

Includes typescripts "The History of Principio and Iron Hill", clippings on J.J. Holloway, Earl Oglebay, Alexander Glass, Josiah Fox, and the iron and steel industry of the Wheeling area. Includes photographs (1930s-1940s, 5 in.), program scripts (1937-1944, 5 in.), clippings and magazines (1930s-1940s, 3 in., including Life Magazine of March 21, 1938 with article featuring the radio program), and scrapbooks containing clippings and photographs (1930s-1940s, 3 in.). Also includes original audio transcription discs of the program (1930s-1940s, 7 ft., 6 in.), and reel-to-reel/cassette preservation copies of the transcription discs (1936-1944, 34 ft., ca. 620 reels). Papers of a brigadier general of the Twelfth West Virginia Volunteer Infantry and his family from West Liberty include correspondence, business and legal papers, military and veterans' records, photographs, clippings, and account books. Includes papers of West Liberty Post 78, Department of West Virginia G.A.R.; records and photographs of the Twelfth West Virginia Infantry Regiment; photographs, clippings and published and unpublished material pertaining to the town of West Liberty and the Normal School; local and state historical materials compiled by Maude Curtis; mercantile letterheads of Wheeling; West Liberty Presbyterian Sunday School register, 1830-1834; C.N. Short's register of funerals, 1893-1917; and a Civil War diary and account book, 1863-1865. Subjects include Montgomery and Shotwell family history, West Liberty Academy and Bethany College.
