Content warning: Sexist and offensive language. Photograph album made by a U.S. serviceman, most likely in the U.S. Army Air Force, that mostly shows locations in Oahu, Hawaii. The photographs date from 1942-1945, with the majority being taken between 1942 - 1943. The photos depict training at airfields on Oahu, including Wheeler Field and Bellows Field, as well as scenes of civilian life in Honolulu and Hilo, Hawaii, and San Francisco and San Diego, California.

The pamphlets found in this collection highlight the many aspects of military and wartime life, mainly during World War II. The pamphlets provide clues as to how day-to-day military life was conducted during the First and Second World Wars, including the ins-and-outs of pre-military enlistment, the role of women during the war, and perceived German intentions. Many publications offer insight into how a soldier is to conduct himself on and off the battlefield, including restrictions he is to adhere to when returning home. All publications are official United States issue, and are therefore official documentation of how the army communicated with the average soldier.

World War II Pacific Theater War art, 1944/1945 0.6 Linear Feet Six 12 3/4 x 18 inch folders.

Five watercolor paintings and one drawing in graphite and colored pencil. The watercolors are untitled and the pencil drawing is titled "Marine Regular "Master Sgt. McGoik." All depict scenes of Marine combat in the Pacific. The works are all signed "Beute."

The collection of photographs and postcards consists of 300 items, one document box, twenty one envelopes, and one cubic foot of chiefly World War II era photographs, both amateur and professional. Approximately one half of the photographs are unidentified. The photographs that are identified are mostly related to the 3rd Platoon, Company C, 256th Engineer Combat Battalion. Members of the platoon who are identified on photographs are: (1st Squad) Leonard Brophy, William A. Fretz, Walter M. Tierney, Sr., James R. Ussery, George J. Weiland, and, (Headquarters) Charles S. Kapanski.

World War II pilot survival packet for American pilots shot down in Europe. Includes two maps of western and eastern Europe respectively; two German Mark notes in denominations of one million and fifty million marks respectively each dated 1923; two foreign language phrase books, one for Croation, Serbo, Albanian, Greek, and Italian, and the other for French, Polish, Russian, and German; one small compass; six small sheets of blank paper; one metal bar wrapped in paper (1/2 in. x 4 in.); and waterproof carrying case (5 in. x 6 in.).
