Two ledgers, two journals and a daybook, 1802-1859, of Samuel B. Finley, merchant, of Lexington, Va. Ledger "B" (MsV Ame29) contains accounts concerning the estate of John Tate (Samuel Finley, executor); daybook (MsV Ame 31) contains an inventory , 1813, of goods put into partnership with William Shields and A. Shields and a manuscript arithmetic copybook, 1832; and ledger, 1842-1842 (MsV Ame33) contains notes, 1851-1867, concerning a fruit orchard.

Subjects include the history of Clarksburg and Shinnston; the Progressive Movement, women's suffrage, and prohibition in West Virginia; West Virginia Wesleyan College; West Virginia Historical Society; Methodism in Harrison County and the state; Methodist missions in Korea, China, India, the Philippines, and the United States; gristmills and covered bridges in West Virginia; America First Day [1922]; Edward Grandison Smith; Parkersburg Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; family and personal history; history of the Mason-Dixon Line; the (Clarksburg) 50-Year Club; Nutter Fort Methodist Church; and the Harrison County Fair. Also, tape recordings of an interview relating to Mr. Harmer's career as an attorney in Clarksburg.

The Quo Vadis Wright papers contains correspondence, photographs, financial documents and scrapbooks documenting the family of Quo Vadis Williams Wright. Quo Vadis and her family primarily settled in Williamsburg, Virginia where she worked as a concierge and in hospitality for the Colonial Williamsburg foundation, Fort Magruder Inn, Howard Johnson, Mama Steve's Pancake House and Southern Pancake House. The collection documents African American History in Williamsburg, Virginia specifically as it pertains to the Quo Vadis Wright family and immediate community.

This collection includes deacons' minutes, sunday school records, the church register, cemetery records, congregational meeting minutes, and financial records of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. Also includes some issues of the New Monmouth News/Newsletter. Of particular note is a scrapbook created of the church's earliest records dating back to the pastorates of William Graham and George Baxter.

Records of Storer College, West Virginia's first African American institution of higher learning, located in Harpers Ferry. This collection contains mainly administrative and operational records of the college. Types of records include annual reports, publications, memorabilia, artifacts, and other material. This collection includes material regarding John Brown's Fort.

Negative photostats of papers, 1730-1817, of the Bray Associates, a division of the Society of the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, which was instrumental in providing libraries for the churches in America and setting up schools for the Christian education of free and enslaved Black children.

This collection contains correspondence, deeds, estate indentures, account books, receipts notebooks, photographs, carte-de-visite, genealogical research and trees, clippings, a tintype, and ephemera, including wallets, a metal box, and a lock of hair documenting the Rose, Redd, and Claiborne families of Virginia. Names frequently appearing in papers include Eugene M. Redd and his son James Redd. Also included are Ezra Morrison, Mattie Tompkins, Clarence Redd, Jessie Redd McCarthy, Rachel Ayers, Blaine McCarthy Willett, John McCarthy, and the Blain family. The papers document genealogical research and track land purchase and holding, including the Bellevette, a Robert Rose property that has passed down to his descendants, in Nelson County. Also included is correspondence from the turn of the century regarding the Central Virginia Electric Cooperative, a private, not-for-profit cooperative that has provided electricity to customers.
