Mosby and letters of the Mosby family, including John Singleton Mosby (1833-1916)Confederate Colonel in the American Civil War. There is also a letter about President Mckinley helping John Singleton Mosby to obtain a job in the Justice Department and letters from John Singleton Mosby to his son, Beverley C. Glass plate negatives of photographs taken by Uriah C. Shock documenting Helvetia, West Virginia, a small community of German-speaking Swiss immigrants located in Randolph County. Includes portraits of individuals and groups, apparently of family members and community groups. Many images feature woodland settings, and some pictures include evidence of logging operations, horse teams, buildings, and livestock. Plates are of varying dimensions, including 5 in. x 7 in. and 6 1/2 in. x 8 1/2 in. sizes.
