Sullivan who owned and operated a rooming house, and wholesale grocery and liquor store in the 1850s-1940s. Items also include a letter from Jeremiah O'Brien who fought for the 26th Regiment of the New York Volunteer Infantry and writes concerning battles fought during 1861-1862.

The collection documents the personal and professional life of George W. L. Kabrich, who taught school and Sunday school, worked as Overseer of the Poor for Blacksburg Township, and was on church councils for local Lutheran churches. Items also relate to George's father-in-law John Surface, his daughter Effie Kabrich, and others. An item of note is a Rat Belt which is believed to have belonged to Robert H. Kabrich, the grandson of George's brother Issiah.

Gwaltney & Co., a ham packing plant in Smithfield, Virginia. Dating from approximately the 1870s to 1940s, the collection includes 426 manuscript account books, 8 printed volumes and 37 record cartons of invoices, banking and packing slips, contracts and some correspondence.
