Correspondence, 1863-1864, of Mary J. Wills, Bedford County, Virginia with her husband, Charles A. Wills of the 58th Virginia Infantry Regiment (Company I). Also includes letters to Mary J. Wills from her brothers, John A. Bradley and Joseph M. Bradley, and correspondence of her sister Sarah F. Foster with her husband Habun R. Foster. John A. Bradley and Joseph M. Bradley served in the 58th Virginia Infantry and Habun R. Foster served in the 34th Virginia Infantry Regiment. The Battle of Second Manassas is described as is the battleground at Seven Pines (Fair Oaks). The collection includes a letter from Robert A. Bradley of the 58th Virginia Infantry Regiment.

The collection consists of three letters dating to the American Civil War era. The first two were written by Captain Jacob J. Whitmore to William A. Wilson on matters of business. In them, Whitmore discusses the effect of the war on his ability to conduct business and the movement of his regiment from Alleghany mountain. The third letter is unrelated and written by an unknown author to her friend Lizzie Firebaugh. This letter discusses family matters and the status of several male relatives or friends in regards to the war.

Appointment, 10 May 1836, of Winfield Scott to the rank of lieutenant-general (signed by Andrew Jackson and Lewis Cass) and letter, 26 May 1865, of Winfield Scott to Quartermaster Capt. [?] Morgan concerning fuel and quarters and his departure for West Point.

Photos, letters, a diary, an account book, and an album belonging to members of the Wingfield-Britton family. The collection ranges from pre-civil war to the 1980s, with the bulk of the material dated around the early 1900s. The correspondence covers a number of topics including health and family life, farming, and travel in the north-western valley region of Virginia.

Papers, circa 1830s-1950s, of the Wissler, Mayer, and Erb families of Grottoes and Columbia Furnace, Virginia, and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Included are photographs, an autograph album, a manuscript cookbook, receipts, two ledgers, a Bible and hymn book, a Wissler family record for the descendants of William Franklin Wissler and Elizabeth Mayer (m. 1890), and correspondence.
