Memorial of Captain John Fenno Mansfield (1788-1812) in this Eulogium in calligraphy by Benjamin Owen Tyler. At Westpoint Tyler designed and accomplished this memorial dated November 20, 1816.Calligraphically and stylistically, the broadside bears all of the hallmarks of Tyler's penmanship and design such as floating cherubic heads. The Eulogium's most telling couplet states: "Science and Taste, united, would have shed/ A living luster round his honored head."

Papers and correspondence of the William Haymond Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, including genealogical correspondence, newspaper clippings and notebooks, and notes and records on family history. The one reel of microfilm contains the typescript notes and manuscripts of Edgar Wakefield Hassler on Western Pennsylvania history during the period of French and Indian War and the War of Independence.

The papers include: Bible records for the children of John Humberand Elizabeth Humber, the Cox family, and the Lacy family; a poem, "The Late Fire in Charlottesville, Virginia"; a Knights of PythiasCertificate belonging to Lewis H. Brown; Precinct Poll books for Charlottesville, and printed material concerning the Women's Christian Temperance Union.

The Leftwich Papers consist of ca. 2500 items (4 Hollinger boxes, ca. 1.3 linear shelf feet), 1780-1890, and reflect the military, business and personal activities of Joel Leftwich (1759-1846). The collection contains correspondence, financial and legal papers, printed material, and miscellaneous related papers. Correspondence and business papers comprise the bulk of the collection but there is a significant amount of material relating to the operations of the Twelfth Virginia Militia Brigade from 1790 to 1842. A genealogy of the Leftwich family may be found in Campbell Chronicles and Family Sketches: Embracing the History of Campbell County, Virginia 1782-1926 by Ruth H. Early.
