Collection of genealogical information regarding the Davis family of Clark County, Ohio in the late 1700s to the mid 1800s. Beginning with Robert Davis, the collection follows the bloodline through his daughter, Mercy (Davis) Meranda, to where the family eventually moved to in Missouri and later, Indiana.

Original document with abstract regarding charges against David Ross for inciting Indian attacks in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. A note attached to this document, apparently written in the later 19th century, reads: "This writing was picked up in the street of Richmond, Virginia, in 1865 after the evacuation of the City by the rebels, by Lieutenant P.H. Heermans of the 15th West Virginia Infantry."

Folder 2 includes manuscript genealogical information from the Varner family bible, and typed transcripts of the papers of the Varner family of Monongalia County, West Virginia, dating from 1775 to 1918, which includes correspondence with the Darrahs.
