Abstract Or Scope
In 1890, employees of the Bloch Brothers Tobacco Company in Wheeling, West Virginia, organized the Tobacco Workers' Union No. 4087. The organization joined several larger labor federations, and in 1899 became the Tobacco Workers' International Union No. 2. Handwritten meeting minutes from 1890 to 1905 chiefly document the business history of the union. Minutes include the names and status of members, membership business, including resolutions of sympathy and committee appointments, and brief reports of business conducted.
