Gauthier was also an active member of the Hampton Roads Jaycees, Newport News Economic Opportunity Committee, and the American Production and Inventory Control Society. Most of the papers in this collection surround his involvement with the Republican Party in Newport News and the Hampton Roads Jaycees.
