Letter from Lewis Walton of Palmyra, Virginia asking for a job as a salesperson (1884) and H.B. Stegar asking for a job since "Jim has left you" (1888). Letter from Victor Lawson of the Chicago Daily News congratulating J. A. Shepherd on his assignment as postmaster (1888). Letters from county residents who ask the store to sell their produce, to pass messages to people who stop by the store and to extend credit to others buying merchandise at the store. A prescription order with instructions on how to take it, written on Shepherd & Patton letterhead.
