Abstract Or Scope

Two-hundred and nine (209) transcription disc sound recordings of programming for Radio Station WMMN of Fairmont, West Virginia. The discs include: political speeches and campaign advertisements pertaining to West Virginia elections; public service and information programming; and radio dramas and other entertainment such as plays, music, and interviews. Some national personalities appear in the broadcasts, including Fredric March, Don Knotts, Arthur Godfrey, Fred Allen, and Ray Milland. Also includes a history of radio in West Virginia that had been published in 1939 in the periodical "The West Virginia Review", which includes information on WMMN (in small collection folder).
