Abstract Or Scope

A real photograph postcard of Washington and Lee University ambulance driver James Rowan (WLU class of 1914) standing in front of his ambulance in France during the First World War. The second image in this collection is of Robert P. Rowan in his military uniform wearing the U.S. Army's Distinguished Service Cross awarded to him for his heroism in combat as a corporal in Company A, of the 116th Infantry. The Rowan brothers were from Greenville, Augusta County, Virginia.
