One newspaper clipping of an obituary from the August 20, 1989 issue of The Dominion Post titled, "Space Pioneer M.G. Comuntzis Dies." "Marcus G. Comuntzis was born in Morgantown, West Virginia on July 8, 1921. He received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University, served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a second lieutenant, and received a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was a member of the initial staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California and retired after 30 years of employment. Comuntzis died August 17, 1989 in Pasedena.
