Robert E. Lee to Matthew Fontaine Maury, 1865 Box 1, Folder 12

In this letter From Cartersville, Va, Lee writes to Maury that he is disappointed in the government but that he wants to continue trying to make it better. He advises Maury against his ideas about starting a settlement of ex-Confederates and other immigrants. A transcription of this letter is housed with the original.
