Abstract Or Scope

Two letters from L.W. Lane, Jr. on William and Mary stationery dated May 3, 1906 and November 6, 1906. Lane was the Commissioner of State Hospitals for the insane in Virginia. He was also on the staff at William and Mary as the Treasurer and Secretary of the Board of Visitors. The letters are in response to Mr. Deas in Newport News who wants to remove idiots from his jail and also a thank you to Judge Carter Scott in Richmond for his endorsement of Lane's re-appointment as Commissioner the State Hospitals.
