Abstract Or Scope
This collection contains a diploma and certificates given to Warren Weston Howard (1889-1970), who graduated from Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) in 1912 and from the National Guard of the United States Army and of the State of Florida in the 1920s. The collection also contains a certificate to Vada Howard (1905-1980) for her service to the United States Army in 1946 and an undated crest from Virginia Military Institute. Warren Howard graduated from VPI with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1912 and became an instructor of mathematics at VPI in the 1950s. He married Vada Juanita Winfrey in the 1940s. Vada Howard provided meritorious service to the U.S. Army during World War II.
