Thomas Walker Gilmer's Executive Papers primarily consist of incoming correspondence during his term as governor from 31 March 1840 until his resignation on 20 March 1841. Also included is correspondence and other documents received by Lieutenant Governor John M. Patton as a member of the Council of State acting as governor until 31 March 1841.
