Records of the Book Baskets (1995-2018; 1.5 cubic feet) consists of meeting agendas, minutes, reports, news clippings, photographs, thank you letters, information on grants, contributors, and general correspondence. The collection is organized into three series.

This collection of papers originated from the career and personal life of Donald Nuechterlein (1925-2022), who was originally from Saginaw, Michigan, served in World War II and became an American diplomat and a professor of International Relations. He was a University of Virginia adjunct professor, and international foreign relations analyst from the 1960's to the 1990's. He lived in Charlottesville and wrote a regular political opinion column in the local paper, The Daily Progress. He frequently wrote for other Virginia newspapers and was the author of a dozen books on the United States and world politics. Even though he retired in the 1990's, he was still writing until his death at age 97.

Letters and notes from Eleanor Ross Taylor to Paul Collinge and Mary Lyons (Heartwood Books). Also includes one program from Taylor's funeral and one from her husbands funeral (St Paul's Church, Charlottesville, Virginia) collected by Paul Collinge.

The Francis H. Fife papers (1947-2015; 168.4 cubic feet) document the personal and professional life of Mr. Fife with an emphasis on his civic and community interests. Types of materials include reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, memoranda, journals, and some family documents. The collection is organized into three series: Oak Lawn 1, Oak Lawn 2, and Westview.

The Goss family papers (1820-2014; 4 cubic feet) contain Civil War letters and documents including a pardon for Ebenezer Walker Goss from President Andrew Johnson in 1865, manuscript receipts of goods sold to the Confederate Army, enslaved person receipts, and papers (mostly correspondence) related to their 19th and early 20th century family in Somerset, Virginia. Business records reflect their apple orchard, farming, and dairy business which was maintained by Charlotte "Lottie" Goss (1861-1914), and her brother Ebenezer "Lee" Goss,(1863-1934). The family papers also contain correspondence with William and Marion du Pont about horses and dogs. There are also letters from suitors, particularly J. Frank Lobingier, pursuing Charlotte "Lottie" Goss (1880-1909), from around the country. Miss Goss lived for a while in Pomona California, and Saltito, Mexico. The family papers also contain photographs and genealogy describing their family history in Virginia.

The Maurice Lévy papers (1952-2012; 3.25 cubic feet) document the research, professional career, and personal life of Maurice Lévy. The bulk of the collection consists of research papers and publications, with subjects ranging from gothic literature to William Faulkner to H.P. Lovecraft. The collection also contains conference talks given by Lévy, correspondence with universities and grant agencies, publications from Lévy's organization CERLI (Centre d'Études et de Recherches sur les Littératures de l'Imaginaire), and a few photographs of Lévy with family members.

This collection contains the correspondence between Edmund "Ned" Berkeley, Jr. and Doug Bakken, two archival colleagues and close professional friends, circa 1965-1983. The correspondence is a mix of personal and professional topics but primarily focuses on their respective work in archives. Also contained are four pages of Bakken's reflections on their personal and professional relationship that he sent along with the donation of this material.

Ronald P. Sokol's papers consist of his UVA Law student notebooks and his correspondence with Professors Daniel J. Meador and Hardy C. Dillard. The correspondence portrays his long friendship the professors and his relationship with the Law School.

The Somerville family papers (1821-2013) consists of correspondence, photographs, printed materials, and extensive genealogical files. The papers and research detailing the history of the Somerville family, mainly in America, range from its colonial background to contemporary times. The extensive genealogical research is comprised of notes and charts, along with correspondence, photographs, military records, personal notes, clippings, and printed materials. The collection also includes records detailing financial history of family assets, including wills, estates, and records of the sale of enslaved laborers and land. Scattered throughout the collection are photographs, negatives, and daguerreotypes of many Somerville family members, as well as some sheet music, and artifacts. Part of the collection also details the backgrounds of other families genealogically related to the Somervilles, such as the Stringfellow and Nottingham families.

Virginia Music Teachers Association records (1940-2018; 11 cubic feet) contain financial papers, agendas, contests, correspondence, minutes, newsletters, chapter reports and officer's reports totaling 11 cubic feet. There are also music performances and software programs on compact discs, floppy disk and audiocassette. Some areas of the collection are missing years from 1980 to 1990. The records are created by musicians and teachers in Virginia whose shared vision is furthering the art of music and promoting the growth and professional development of its members. It provides programs that encourage and support teaching, performance, composition, research, and students. Some of the Virginia chapters include Roanoke, Shenandoah, Piedmont, Richmond, Tidewater, Peninsula, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia, Highlands, and many state and private colleges.
