Papers, 1909-1966, relating to institutions in Williamsburg, Virginia including William and Mary, Matthew Whaley School and Bruton Parish Church collected by Cynthia Barlowe and Raymond Kimbrough.

This collection includes invitations, material about the Queen's Guard and ROTC, and other publications from the Department of Military Science and other military-related bodies at the College of William and Mary. The collection also includes material related to the Student Army Training Corps stationed on campus during World War I, activities of other units during World War II, and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

The bulk of this collection (1942-1947) chronicles three generations of the Dodge and Hill families. The collection consists largely of correspondence and photographs documenting the Dodge and Hill families and colleagues of Henry Haskins Dodge at the Lincoln Chiropractic College of Indianapolis, Ind. The letters exchanged among Henry Haskins Dodge's classmates suggest some of the effects of World War II on the home front including military draft and deferment, relocation, and war service.

Diaries, photographs, and clippings, 1935-1951, of Helen Minor of Baltimore, Maryland. Minor also seems to have spent time in Indiana and Ohio. Includes diary entries for almost every day from 1935 through 1948, with entries becoming more scattered between 1948 and 1951. Diary entries primarily concern Minor's day to day activities, including her job, people with whom she meets, events which she attends, and her lack of relationships with men. There are also photographs, primarily of an unidentified man during World War II. Finally, there are clippings contaning mostly quotes and aphorisms.

The collection consists of incoming correspondence for Helen Rodgers Weber, with the bulk written over a few months in 1943. The letters are mostly authored by Helen's mother Lettie, father Clarence, and sister Jean. The content reflects on daily life in Indiana during WWII.

The racial and ethnic ephemera collection contains various materials regarding race, ethnicity, and racism in the United States. The collection includes papers and items that promote racial prejudice and propaganda. The collection also contains items and papers that exemplify the fight for civil and equal rights. African Americans are the most broadly represented group in the collection. Other ethnic groups include Native Americans, Asian Americans, Jewish Americans, Muslim Americans, and Cuban Americans. Ku Klux Klan pamphlets and anti-immigration publications are also included. Through this collection, the American struggle of racism and prejudice is realized.

A collection of two hundred and twenty-one letters sent to Rosalie White Irwin, a resident of Richmond, Virginia, dated from 1937 to 1950. Most of the letters included are from a variety of male admirers or boyfriends, including her future husband, Ted. The men are all serving in the army at the end of World War II and in the years following. Their letters provide descriptions of army and camp life both at home and abroad in India, the Philippines, Australia, Japan, and the South Pacific. Interspersed are letters from female friends. These letters cover a variety of topics including daily life and career choices that the women are pursuing; one woman in particular writes about serving as an operating room nurse at a veteran's hospital.
