This collection consists primarily of documents and photographs dating from A. Franklin Kibler's World War II service with the 12th Army Group, European Theater, including:

• Memoranda to and from Kibler and other senior officers (1943-1945)
• Headquarters, 12th Army Group Commanding General's briefings (1944-1945)
• Reports, including "Reports of the General Board, United States Forces, European Theater" (G-3 Section)
• Photographs
• Organizational charts

The Agnes Panton scrapbook (1944-1945; 0.25 cubic feet) is a World War II scrapbook documenting a female marine's experiences. It contains memorabilia, invitations, greeting cards, and newspaper clippings. Also included are shoulder stripe patches for a male and female officer. Second Headquarters Battalion stationed in Washington D.C. area.

Cover is brown paper and reads "Memory Book" in silver writing. The cover shows some tearing and scribbles. Black string used for binding removed for preservation but retained in the box. Inside the scrapbook contains notes, dried flowers, programs, napkins, menu, pamphlets, ticket stubs, newspaper clippings, postcards, and pencils, which have been glued in. Black paper used throughout for decoration. Some loose media/pages.

Certificates of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, 1922, and the War Production Board, 1945, awarded to A.M. Reese; also a program of the Flag Day services held in Morgantown, June 18, 1944.

This collection consists of the certificate that awards the Purple Heart to Allen R. Potts, VMI Class of 1943. The citation is for wounds received in combat during World War II in Palau, Western Carolines, on October 4, 1944.

Two page letter written on USO stationary to a former commander, Lieutenant Colonel Louis Weiss. Because of censorship and the secrecy of his work, Monk cannot discuss locations, topics of jobs, or even names of others he interacts with. He does, however, comment at length on the weather.

Letters from Al to his wife Cass, 1942 November 10. He mentions a gift he sent her from Arizona made out of an "Indian weed" and talks about life in the army and the men in his unit.
