Abstract Or Scope
The Artemis Sisters Collective was a local Morgantown, West Virginia feminist collective formed in September 1982 for the purpose of promoting women's empowerment through creative, political, and social engagement. The bulk of materials range in dates from 1980 to 1987 and include information regarding the SisterSpace Collective, various women's defense committees, musical acts, and social activism. Materials include posters, pamphlets, correspondence, cassette tapes, meeting minutes, flyers, press releases, photographs and t-shirts.

This collection contains materials collected and created by Carrie Koeturius during her time as an activist in Morgantown, West Virginia. It includes materials related to activist and advocacy organizations such as the Artemis Sisters, Sisterspace, and Women's Information Center. It also contains materials related to her activities at WVU concerning the Women and Creativity conferences in 1984 and 1998 and personal achievements, such as her receiving the Mary Catherine Buwell Award and Women Helping Women Award.

Abstract Or Scope
Maryat Lee (1923-1989) was an American playwright and theater director who made important contributions to post-World War II avant-garde theater. She pioneered street theater in Harlem and later founded EcoTheater in West Virginia, a community-based theater project. Materials include reports, newsletters, correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, posters, manuscripts, notes, scripts, screenplays, published plays, genealogical research, journals, drawings, and paintings. Also present is a piece of stained glass created by Lee, a dress worn by Lee, and an EcoTheater T-Shirt.
