The Carol O'Neale Culnan Architectural Collection contains a mixture of personal and business records related to Culnan's personal life and her architectural practice. Her papers include student work, fiber art and woven textiles, and photographs. Her project records span a variety of projects in the Baltimore/Washington metro area and southwest Virginia, primarily residential projects, and include original drawings and other files documenting jobs and clients spanning the years from 1966 to 2016.

The E. Maria Roth Architectural Collection contains the personal papers, professional papers, and project files of a landscape architect working largely in New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. School work from Cooper Union and Rutgers University is included, along with a school notebook from 1940 made during the Hitler era in Germany. Projects largely conform to the following categories: schools, residences/neighborhoods, public and recreation areas, and furniture/structural designs.

Abstract Or Scope
After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1929, Mary Ramsay Brown Channel earned her degree in architecture at Cornell University in 1933. She returned to her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia, and worked at a firm for two years before opening her own office as the first registered woman architect in Virginia. She became known for her residential and church designs. Her collection includes sketches and drawings for about 160 mostly residential projects in the Portsmouth area. Also included are some college drawings and projects.
