Werner Joseph Scholz attended the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in Applied Chemistry in 1913. Scholz died from pneumonia at his parents' home in Roanoke, Virginia, in June 1915. He was engaged to Patti Bramlet at the time of his death.
