Correspondence, business papers, educational records of a home economics teacher and supervisor who graduated from West Virginia University, attended Chicago and Columbia universities, taught home economics at Morgantown High School, and was supervisor of home economics for the Monongalia County School System. The papers cover: family affairs; schools in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New York; West Virginia Home Economics Association; National Education Association department of home economics; World War I letters commenting on conditions at Camp Taylor, Kentucky, Camp Lee, Richmond, Virginia; and World War II material on civilian support activities.

Correspondence, financial records, speeches, reports, blueprints, and pamphlets of a Bluefield banker and businessman who was a treasurer of the Democratic Executive Committee and a member of the Board of Governors of West Virginia University. Subjects include numerous businesses in the Bluefield area, Bluefield State College, Concord College, Bank of Bramwell, Island Creek Coal Company, Norfolk and Western Railroad, Pocahontas Fuel Company, Smokeless Operators Association, Virginia Railway, Winding Gulf Collieries, and West Virginia University. This collection contains personal papers donated by George B. Dowell and includes playscripts, programs, photographs, correspondence, and publications relating mostly to theatre activities with the Federal Theatre Project, Smith College, and Vassar College.

Correspondence, sermons, religious writings, and accounts of a graduate of Wesleyan University and Harvard Law School, Methodist missionary to India (ca.1876-1885), and son of Representative James Clark McGrew of Kingwood. Subjects include West Virginia politics; social activities in Kingwood; conditions in the Indian mission field; nautical improvements tested at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, 1879; Northwestern University; and the Republican National Convention of 1880.

The Board of Visitors records include the files and minutes of the George Mason University (GMU) Board of Visitors meetings. The bulk of the collection consists of meeting minutes from the 1960s through 2007. The papers include Meeting Minutes, Amendments to the VA Plan, Committee Rosters, Correspondence, Bylaws, Media Clippings, and the establishment of the House Bill 210 that separated GMU from the University of Virginia.

The George Mason University Broadside photograph collection consists of negatives, contact sheets, and prints created for use in the student newspaper Broadside. These photographs are from the Student Media Office. The total collection contains over 57,000 color and black and white images taken between the 1970s and 2001. The collection includes images of student life, campus architecture and construction, campus events, sports, faculty and staff, concert performances, and art.

The total collection contains over 100,000 color and black and white photographs, including prints, contact sheets, and negatives, taken between the 1950s and 2007. The collection includes images of student life, campus architecture and construction, campus events, faculty and staff, performances, and art.
