Abstract Or Scope

This addition contains T-shirts, committee reports, proposals, surveys, petitions, clippings from various newspapers including The Cavalier Daily, brochures, a letter from Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida regarding the Unite the Right Rally in 2017, and a floppy disk documenting the work of the LGBTQ student center. Files on the disk include agendas from 1998 to 1999, letters working to address the harassment of the LGBTQ community during the "Good Old Song" singing, and various research and reports on resources at academic institutions for the LGBTQ community. Also included are two two Franklin E. Kameny posters posters, and a "Homophile" sign.

Records of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and the Montalto Corporation, 1855-2003, 0.6 cubic feet, includes two books of the Montalto Corporation containing notes and meeting minutes, correspondence and financial materials of both the corporation and the fraternity, and materials regarding fraternities and sororities from the University of Virginia. Also includes photographs, a constitution, and minute book.

This addition to RG 23/109, Student Organizations/ Z Society, includes a letter circulated and posted all over Grounds by the Z Society after an incident on February 28, 2022. The incident required a shelter-in-place notification to the community after officers initially responded to a report of a possible robbery with a weapon. Once on the scene, investigators learned the suspect had fled on foot but was located soon after in a construction zone behind the Main Library. The Z Society letter acknowledged the stressfulness of the situation and provided a list of local and national hotlines for services.
