The David Pass papers contain correspondence, oral histories, research files, photographs, maps, and plans that document the development and study of new towns in the United States and internationally, particularly Sweden. The collection thoroughly documents Pass's career at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, the Urban Development Corporation in New York, and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, D.C. Although the inclusive dates span from 1934 to 2001, the bulk of the collection dates from the early 1960s to the early 1980s.

The Dorn McGrath Fairfax County and Loudoun County slide collection contains over 500 35mm photographic slides primarily depicting aerial views of locations in Fairfax and Loudoun County, Virginia.

The Atkins collection consists of approximately 60,000 images that extensively document American political and cultural history from the 1940s through the 1970s. Most of the images that document American political life date from the early 1960s through the mid-1970s when Atkins worked as a photographer for the Saturday Evening Post and then later as the personal photographer to President Richard M. Nixon. The bulk of the American cultural documentation is from Atkins' work in the 1950s and early 1960s on specific stories for the Saturday Evening Post, and these stories cover other areas of the United States, particularly the Southeast up through the Northeast coast. There are also a number of international sets of images from Korea, Africa, and India. The collection consists largely of 8x10" and l3x10" color and black and white prints and 35mm and 4"x5" black and white negatives. There are also a number of slides, contact sheets, and oversize mat prints. The collection also includes some correspondence and other documentation on Atkins' work and travel abroad.

The Reston Land Corporation records document the development of Reston, Virginia, by Reston Land Corporation, a subsidiary of Mobil Oil Corporation. The records focus primarily on Reston Land Corporation's development projects and marketing programs from 1960 to 1990. Also in the collection are promotional material, media and 35mm slides from the Reston Land Corporation.

The collection consists of newsclippings, promotional material and booklets relating to Reston. Also included are printed material, publications, scrapbooks, and his speeches and paperwork from various conferences he attended at different universities around the country.
