Herbert W. Hausmann papers

This collection consists of papers, pamphlets, artifacts and ephemera created and kept by Herbert W. Hausmann (Class of 1964). Many materials relate to athletics, including football and basketball guidebooks and programs, promotional buttons, photographs of the American Indian mascot, and an embroidered cheerleader's sweater emblem. Also included are Hausmann's 1964 diploma, his embroidered award blanket, a tercentenary hat, six highball glasses with the William & Mary coat of arms, and one quart beer mug with the William & Mary feathers logo. Hausmann has also included personal recollections along with an inventory of his materials.

Postcards depict scenes from Williamsburg, Yorktown, Richmond, Charlottesville and surrounding areas. Also features notable Virginian men, landmarks, and homes in and around the Virginia area. The album was compiled for the Pollard family of Cumnor, King and Queen County, Virginia.

One postcard is addressed to Captain Irvin from Edward Walford. Other postcards show scenes from Camp Wallace and the James River.

Undated postcard which features the campus of William and Mary. The wren building is in the center along with partial views of the President's house and the Brafferton. The statue of Lord Botetourt is also visible. Behind the campus buildings are three buildings of unknown origin. It is possible they were drawn in to the picture for aesthetic purposes.
