Papers, 1905-1936, of Anna Lou Jose on her trips through Europe. Includes details about the sea journey to Europe as well as details of her daily activities and places visited. Also includes information about the first three days of the 1936 Summer Olympics, held in Berlin. There is also ephemera that was tucked into one of Jose's diaries from her travels. Also includes an expense book from 1905 to 1906 as well as an undated address book. Finally, there is a diary of an unknown person, dated 1964.

Printed ephemera, newspapers, and other publications, related to the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin, Germany, collected by James G. Driver, one of the trainers with the US team. Also included is a photo album, individually assembled with commercially produced photo prints and several postcards. This photo album includes pictures of Olympic village, the torch relay, the opening ceremony, and athletes (including Jesse Owens and Luz Long, among others).

Abstract Or Scope

This collection consists of one album consisting of 40 black and white photographs kept by someone visiting Europe during the summer of 1936. Included in the album are photos of castles, landscapes, buildings, and the sea. There are several photographs that may have been taken in Berlin, Germany during the 1936 Olympics, including a photograph of someone waving from a car that may be Adolf Hitler. A few of the photographs have Rothenburg written on the back.
