The major portion of the journal, pages 1-76, records sales of snuff and tobacco, and includes both individuals, such as a female customer, Joanna Winslow, and firms such as Andrew Ritchie & Son. The remaining section of the volume, pages 77-91, consists of cash settlements and personal accounts of the Elliotts. The rest of the volume contains blank pages.
