Deed book, No. 3, 1761-1762 has a poll list related to a House of Burgess election. Deed books, Nos. 3 and 5 have indexes which contains the first and last names of both parties. It is arranged alphabetically from A-Z. Deed books, Nos. 6 and 7 do not have indexes.

Halifax County (Va.) Deed of Trust, Philemon B. Carter and Wife to A. G. Walters, is dated 17 October 1860. In the deed, Carter grants A. G. Walters 450 acres lying in Halifax County in order to secure payments for his various debts. Also granted in the deed were Carter's livestock and one half of another tract containing 34 acres lying on Toby Creek upon which was situated a water grist mill and a circular saw mill.
