Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Company Record Book, 1940-1949. The volume contains an expense ledger for the Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department, 1940-1942 (includes index); and Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Company minutes, 1947-1949. The minutes include the names of twenty men who formed the company 1947 Aug. 19, and the election of officers 1947 Aug. 22.

Caroline County (Va.) Health and Medical Records, 1802-1909, consists of warrants, orders, petitions, depositions, reports, etc. for or by justices of the peace and others regarding the mental condition of individuals who were released to the recognizance of a family member or who were committed to a mental hospital. Fiduciary records such as estate inventories of a person judged insane may also be present.

Caroline County Court Record, (Va.), 1829. The collection contains an affidavit pertaining to the orphans of John H. Demuse, 1829. The document was removed from Caroline County court records.

Deed Book, 1758-1845, of Caroline County Court. The deed book records the name of the grantor and grantee, the county of residence of both individuals and the description of property being sold or transferred. It also contains the first and last names of both parties and is arranged alphabetically from A-Z.

Deeds of bargain and sale are the most commonly recorded deeds in which one individual sells property, usually land, but occasionally personal property, to another individual. Such deeds show the names of the grantor and grantee, the residence of both parties, a description of what is being sold, the consideration (or price), the location of the tract of land, the tract's boundaries and any limitations on the property being sold. The deed is signed by the grantor, anyone else having a claim to the property, and by at least 2 witnesses. On presentation to the court, deeds are proved and recorded. In this particular case, the deeds derived from the General Court, the Williamsburg District Court and a lost locality (Stafford County.)

Caroline County (Va.) Land Records, 1728-1840, include deeds, plats, articles of agreement, processioners' returns, and miscellaneous land related records. The deeds, plats, and articles of agreement were exhibits in Caroline County chancery causes and judgments.

Marriage Bonds, 1810-1816, records the bonds of marriage between a bride and groom within the county. This volume also includes marriage consents.

Marriage Records, 1786-1853, are comprised of two major record categories--marriage registers and marriage bonds--found in four volumes (Parts 1-4.) The first volume (Part 1) covering pages 1-165, 1786-1853, is divided into three separate sections with marriage registers and marriage bonds. Pages 1-39, 1795-1844, record the date of the marriage bond, the names of both parties, the names of the parents or guardians present and the names of the security or witnesses in attendance. Pages 41-53, 1852-1853, record the same information as found in the first forty pages but also includes the name of the minister who performed the marriage ceremony. Pages 53-54 record the same information found in the first forty pages and note additonal register entries for 1819. Pages 55- 58, 1797- 1851, record the date of the marriage, the names of both parties, the minister's name and the religious denomination of the minister. Another section of this volume, covering pages 59-107, is an alphabetized (A-Y) and chronological (by month and year) register of all parties married and by whom they were married from 1786-1853. The last section of this volume, covering pages 108-165, records marriage bonds from 1821-1824.
