Forlines and Harris Account Book, 1853-1856, records the accounts of individual customers. Each account lists transactions in chronological order. Information recorded in each account includes name of customer, dates of transaction, items purchased, quantity of items purchased, price of each item, form of payment, amount owed, and amount paid. Items sold include toys, food, alcoholic drinks, coffee pots, dry-goods, umbrellas, toiletries, tobacco, knives, clothing, and nuts. Payments made by cash and credit.

Journal, 1845-1848, of George W. Williams used as a daybook to record daily transactions in chronological order. Information recorded in the daybook includes date of transaction, name of customer, form of transaction, items purchased, quantity of items purchased, cost per item, form of payment, total amount owed, and total amount paid. Items sold include spices, dry-goods, soap, food, farm equipment, clothing, nails, chairs, and rum. Forms of payment include cash, credit and barter of items such as butter, wheat, bacon, and raw hide.

Business records of Henry W. Whitlock and Son consist of two daybooks and a ledger.

Powhatan County List of Registered Voters, 1902, records the roll of registered voters in Powhatan County. The volume is divided by precincts: Ballsville, Powhatan Court House, Subletts, Pineville, and Smith's Crossroads, and within each precinct on the basis of color. Information found in the volume includes date of registration; number of registered voter; name of registered voter; date of birth; age; occupation; residence; length of residence in state, county, and precinct; whether exempt from poll tax; if naturalized, and if so, date of papers and by what court issued; if transferred from another precinct, and if so, when and to what precinct.

Powhatan County (Va.) Judgments (Freedom Suits), 1807-1844, consist of suits initiated by slaves seeking to gain their freedom on the law side of the court. Cases are identified by style of suit consisting of plaintiff and defendant names. Surnames of others involved in a suit, including secondary plaintiffs and defendants, witnesses, deponents and affiants, and family members with surnames different from the plaintiff or defendant are indexed. Also identified are names of slaves and slaveowners identified in suit as well as whether slave(s) won their freedom. Predominant documents found in freedom suits include petitions, records of suits, depositions, affidavits, wills, among other items. Information found in documents include slave's argument for freedom, acquisition of slaves by slaveowners, slave ancestry, and relationship between slaves and slaveowners.

Powhatan County (Va.) Taxes Collected in Macon Township, 1871 Aug., is a three page recordation of taxes collectd by the treasurer of Macon Township. Recorded are the name of taxpayer, by whom paid, when paid, and amount of state tax, county levy, and county school fund paid. The names are listed in alphabetical order. Following the initial list are several additional names and a total of the taxes collected.

Powhatan County (Va.) Township Records, 1870, consist of 2 pages of commissioners' reports on the division of the county into three townships (Macon, Spencer, and Huguenot) with the boundaries for each and the appointment of registrars. The commissioners and surveyors are also named and report how many days they were engaged in the business.
