Watkins and Jones account book and daybook, 1877-1885, records the transactions of the law partneship located at Charlotte Court House, Virginia. The volume also lists the sale of Thomas N. Jones' personal property on November 28, 1885. It records the name of purchaser, items purchased, and amount paid. Volume is in poor condition due to damaged spine.

Charlotte County (Va.) Board of Exemption Minutes, 1862-1865, consist mainly of lists of persons who applied to be exempt from military service. Names of the persons applying are given as well as the reason given for the exemption (mainly disease or injury). Lists of persons exempt because they were overseers, doctors, sheriffs, millers and farmers are also present. Arrangement is by date of meeting. Accompanying each meeting is a list of the present board members. There is no index. Information about military exemptions exists for the years 1862-1863.

Some of the books have a listing at the front of the volume of the tax rates for that year. Information recorded for each person includes if applicable full name, number of white tithables, tithable slaves listed by name, number of tithable slaves older than 16 years of age, number of tithable slaves older than 12 years of age, numbers of horses and mules, and number of coaches, carriages and other taxable wheeled vehicles. There is no index.
