Oral History of the Principalship (Project)
The Oral History of the Principalship Records are from a Virginia Tech project, started in 1989 by Virginia Tech professor Dr. Patrick W. Carlton, designed to interview retired elementary, middle, and high school principals for their views, reminiscences, and accumulated wisdom. Most of the interviewees are from the Southeast (mainly Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, District of Columbia, and West Virginia), with representative materials from Ohio, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Materials consist of cassette tapes and transcripts of over 230 interviews.

Leech, Preston

Collection of 298 glass slides collected by Preston Leech, a Roanoke, Virginia, native and an employee of the Norfolk & Western Railway Company from the 1930s to the 1970s. Most of the slides are of N&W locomotives, rail routes, and stations. Other slides are of general agricultural and industrial scenes, and of the Luray Caverns in Virginia. The cassette tape is of an interview of Leech done in March 1994, where he speaks about his employment at the Norfolk & Western Railway Company, the Appalachian Trail Club, and the local Masonic Lodge. The Richards-Woody Family Papers comprise correspondence, photographs, obituaries, legal documents, and a family history of the Richards-Woody family. The collection includes Civil War-era correspondence between King David Richards and his wife, Harriet Love Richards, describing several accounts of battles fought by the Confederate Army's 57th Virginia Infantry during the years 1862 and 1863.

Boucher, Rick, 1946-
The Rick Boucher Papers, 1968-2017, document his career in the Virginia State Senate, 1975-1982, and in the United States Congress as the Representative of Virginia's 9th District, 1983-2011. The collection consists of press releases, Boucher's writings, mailers he distributed, information about his campaigns and elections, scripts of speeches he gave, news clippings about him and issues he worked on, correspondence, information about grants that he worked on, and audiovisual materials including photographs, VHS tapes, video reels, audio cassettes, DVDs, awards, and digital files. Materials primarily span from the beginning of his political career in 1975 to his retirement from Congress in 2011.
