The Blair-Weindel-Schrader Family Papers include nearly 100 letters to and from letters of the three families, all based in Marion, Virginia, from about 1958-1998. Many of the letters are typed, but include handwritten addenda. The letters, written to relatives in and around other parts of Virginia, contain substantial detail on family members and local/regional activities.

Map depicting the C & O Railroad network in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern states (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Washington, DC, and New York. Though undated, the map was issued some time between 1947, when the C & O acquired the Pere Marquette Railway of Michigan and Ontario, and 1972, when it adopted a new corporate name following a merger with the ancient Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.

The collection consists of scrapbooks, journals, V.P.I. reunion materials, photograph albums, family diplomas, and the diary of Nannie V. Sibold. As a whole, the collection dates from 1912 to 1990. However, Carrie T. Sibold's scrapbook journals, which run from 1974 to 1990, constitute the the bulk of the collection material.

Materials collected by Randal L. Hall in the course of writing Mountains on the Market: Industry, the Environment, and the South (Kentucky University Press, 2012). Includes several issues of Zinc magazine; a photographic section of the Galax Gazette from 1937; a combined portrait photograph of the employees of Carroll Hosiery Mills; and a National Carbide Company miners lamp dust can lid.
