This Ledger, 1885-1903, pertains to the Select Knights of the AOUW (Ancient Order of United Workmen), Coldwater Legion No. 8 of Coldwater, Michigan. Recorded are accounts for individual members of this fraternal insurance group and occasionally an account for a special fund. The accounts for individual members include entries such as dues and application fees organized by month and year. In addition to accounts of individual members, there are general account listings around page 200, from page 362 to 363, and from page 520 to 527. Some of the general accounts list the treasurer at the time. In 1887, the treasurer appears to be 'Mr. White,' and in the 1890s, the treasurer was 'Mr. Luiddem.'

The collection holds account books of A.B. Smith of Main Street, Toano, Virginia in James City County. The "Account of Chickens and Eggs" ledger from August 1, 1930 to December 1936 has accounts for sales from 1931 to 1936 at the end of the ledger. The financial ledger with an alphabetical index for 1916 and 1917 includes loose papers in the back with financial notes, invoices, and correspondence for the James City County Welfare Committee (1932 -1938) along with some monthly reports and many itemized invoices with names for goods and services given to welfare recipients.

Account book, 1858-1860, used as a journal, 1858, and ledger, 1859-1860, by an unidentified merchant at Parnassus, Augusta County, Va. which was also used for a scrapbook into which were pasted Campbell's Soup advertisements (partially torn out).

Journal and ledger, 1817-1820, of Bedinger & Forman, millers, Berkeley County, Va. [W. Va.] which contains grist mill accounts, 1817-1820, and includes a copy of the constitution, 1850, of the Altonian Debating Society and minutes of the meetings.
