The collection holds account books of A.B. Smith of Main Street, Toano, Virginia in James City County. The "Account of Chickens and Eggs" ledger from August 1, 1930 to December 1936 has accounts for sales from 1931 to 1936 at the end of the ledger. The financial ledger with an alphabetical index for 1916 and 1917 includes loose papers in the back with financial notes, invoices, and correspondence for the James City County Welfare Committee (1932 -1938) along with some monthly reports and many itemized invoices with names for goods and services given to welfare recipients.

Collection, 1876-1959, of Benjamin Curtis Chappelear including manuscript and printed maps of Fauquier, Loudoun, Clarke, and Warren Counties, Virginia; Virginia state maps; United States Department of the Interior Geological Survey Maps of areas in Virginia and West Virginia; notes concerning land records and manuscript volumes which include account books collected by Chappelear of blacksmiths, farmers, postmasters, students, tanners, and operators of general stores. The collection also includes drawings done by Nancy Chappelear as well as genealogical notes on different families.

The family papers of Corie Lynn Dorset Rivers include over 140 separate letters and other manuscript documents handed down to Rivers by her mother, Corie Lynn Slater Dorset. This collection includes papers written by several generation of Williamsburg, Virginia residents, including Lucy Ludwell Paradise; James and Louisa Bellett Lee and family; and Virginia Lee and Parkes Slater and family.

Collection contains materials documenting the Corr-Hogge family including H.L. Corr, Levi Pace Corr, Harry and Jean Corr among others. Collection includes correspondence, ledgers and journals dating from the 19th century. Topics covered include World Warr II.

Business and family papers of the Charles R. and Charles E. Diggs family of Mathews, Virginia and Susan, Virginia. The Diggs Family owed an automobile engine business. In 1921, it was named "Overland and Willys Knight Automobiles Mianus Engines, " but had other names through the years. The family also sold seafood products. Charles Robert Diggs worked in various automotive and machine shops in the area after 1920's.

Contains a minute book, ledger, and other material created and collected by the Granshue Club, a private hunting and fishing camp located near Potsdam, New York. The minute book provides information on the administration of the organization, while the ledger contains financial information about the organization, including a list of members of the club and how much they have paid in dues over the years. The records also consist of correspondence to and from the club, including a memorandum from the Department of Commerce about stocking one of their ponds with trout.

Ledger, 1906-1927, kept at Star Tannery, Va. (Frederick County, Va.) by John H. A. Cooper. The ledger is #3. The store sold Pratts Stock and Poultry Feed. Included with the ledger are some loose letters, and advertisements.

Acc. 1988.03 includes funeral records from Robert W. Kyger's and Robert P. Miller's undertaking business, 1920s to 1940s, Williamsburg. There are 3 volumes as well as nine scrolls. Acc. 2011.568 includes four funeral home ledgers from 1929-1935,1936-1940, 1942-1947, and 1948-1949. There are also order forms for headstones, letters from people unable to pay for the funeral, and various government documents from World War II, including a receipt for tires that the Kyger family gave to the government.
