Correspondence, 1756-1764, of Maria Carter Armistead (including letters written by Mrs. Thomas Feilde); business papers, 1782-1828, of William Cocke of "Bremo," Henrico County, Virginia and of "Oakland," Cumberland County, Virginia; and letters, 1861-1863, of William Fauntleroy Cocke, Thomas Lewis Preston Cocke and Edmund Randolph Cocke concerning their service in the Confederate States Army (including the Battle of First Bull Run).

Material collected by Mollie Wellford (Taliaferro) Duval including: Taliaferro family papers, 1825-1872, which include two letters written from Richmond, Va. in June and July 1862 from John P. Taliaferro of the 26th Regt. Va. Vols., C.S.A., to his wife, with news of Civil War battles, causalities, friends, and relatives; collected genealogical material of the following families of Gloucester Co., Va.: Wormeley, Wellford, Duval, Walke, Taliaferro, Tayloe, Nelson, Perrin, Taylor, Jones, Hansford, and Tabb; and genealogical material regarding Mrs. Duval's husband's (John Tabb Duval) descent from Richard Henry Lee, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and from Pocahontas.

Chiefly papers, 1826-1856, of John Henry Tabb of Gloucester County, Va. who moved to Danville, Va. where he was a merchant (Tabb, Allmand & Co.). Collection includes correspondence of members of the Tabb family with Tabb and business letters written to him.

Consists of three Bibles owned by the Perrin family; a 1751, 1819, and 1838 editions that contain family information and genealogy back to the 1740s. The 1751 Bible contains a list of enslaved children's births and ages.

Collection includes a lot of genealogical notes and copies of wills compiled by Thomas Jefferson Stubbs but also report cards, class notes, and letters of different Stubbs family members. An oration delivered by Thomas Jefferson Stubbs, Sr. before the Phoenix Literary Society is also included as well as his application for the professorship at William & Mary. There are letters written William Carter Stubbs while a student at William & Mary,letters of John Catlett Stubbs while studying medicine in Charlottesville and Baltimore and two class notebooks of Lucy T. C. Stubbs of Williamsburg.

The Timberneck Farm Ledgers collection contains 11 ledgers including records of estate in relation to Timberneck Farm in Gloucester, Virginia as well as doctor's ledgers. The collection also includes school notes, essays and a Gloucester Charity School ledger.

Papers, 1811-1954, of William Booth Taliaferro and his family of Gloucester County, Va. Taliaferro's papers consist of diaries, letterbook (while at Harpers Ferry), correspondence, speeches, memoirs and accounts. The collection also includes papers of his wife, Sally Nivison Lyons Taliaferro (including diaries), his ancestors, siblings and descendants, as well as photographs, genealogical notes and artifacts of the Taliaferro family.

Mostly correspondence of and genealogical data, chiefly 1860-1923, collected by William Carter Stubbs and his wife, Elizabeth Saunders Blair Stubbs. Also includes correspondence from members of the Stubbs, Saunders and Blair families; accounts and correspondence relating to his farm "Valley Front" in Gloucester County, Va. and his Alabama farm; his notes on soil and chemical experiments; papers concerning the Louisiana exhibit at Jamestown Tercentennial, 1907; and papers of Elizabeth Saunders Blair Stubbs and Mary Louise Saunders Blair. Over 8000 items.

Collection is chiefly handwritten notebooks containing genealogical notes and notes on the history of Gloucester County, Va.; and notes on various families (especially Booth, Cooke, and Catlett). Also includes copies of the Abingdon Parish Register and the Botetourt Lodge Masonic Book, 1800-1809; and pictures of buildings and houses, mostly in Gloucester County.
