Two personal diaries of R.E. McCabe of Charleston, West Virginia, containing notes on trips to Europe (1924) and California (1937). On the California trip he briefly describes Kansas City, Boulder, Denver, Santa Fe, Taos, and Los Angeles, muses on real estate values, and notes oil rigs and pipelines. There is a short genealogy of the Hayward family. The diaries also include references to the Ward, Fleming, Brooks, and Watson families. Also includes photographs of members of the Ward, Fleming, Brooks, and Watson families.

The collection includes photocopies of land grants (1798, 1801, 1802, and 1832), treasury warrant records (1779-1780), survey maps, and property maps (two originals, ca. 1966) relating to landholdings, family farms, and tracts in Monongalia County, West Virginia containing Pittsburgh coal seams owned by Thomas Lazzell, Robert Courtney, Michael Courtney, and their descendants in Monongalia County, West Virginia. There are also photocopies of church baptism records (1756-1825) and a War of 1812 militia payroll record (including the company commanded by Captain Robert Courtney); and there are several genealogy charts and correspondence regarding court records, repository materials, and family history (1963-1966). Material covers the years 1756-1994.

Main topics include West Virginia University-related material, including Bond's involvement in Phi Sigma Kappa; genealogy on several early West Virginia families, including Bond, Dent, Core, McWhorter, Romine, Hiner, Scott, Maxson, and Cutright; materials relating to several West Virginia-specific projects, including the Hacker's Creek Descendants, the Henry McWhorter cabin at Jackson's Mill, and others; World War II memorabilia, including letters home from New Guinea and photographs; Morgantown history, particularly from ca. 1914-1970, including Morgantown High School (both 1914-1918 and 1934-1938) and plays produced at the high school in the late 1930s. Williams, Katherine

Family papers compiled by Katherine Williams of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Most of the papers are of the James H. Taylor family of Clarksburg, West Virginia dating from the 19th century. There are also records of the Irwin family including a genealogy, and the Civil War letters of private George Irwin, a soldier in Company F, 95th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Other families documented include the Redman and Summers families. The collection includes letters, autograph books, family business records, genealogies, photographs, and other material.
