Two publications by Alpheus B. Stickney regarding the genealogy and history of the Pierpont family, as well as a letter from Stickney to Bessie Anderson regarding his genealogical research (1957). Please note that various spellings of "Pierpont" are used in this material. One publication regards the branch of the Pierpont family which lived in West Virginia (1953). The other publication is a reprint of an article from "The American Genealogist" (1957), regarding the 17th century Pierponts who emigrated from England to the then-colony of Maryland.

The collection consists mainly of certificates presented to Amos R. Koontz, M.D., by the army, together with his medals in a frame, and membership certificates in organizations. Included is a competition for designs for National Military Dress (1809); and shoemaker's account books of Harden Keyser (1849-1861), one of which Mattie Keyser used as a scrapbook at a later period and in which she wrote autograph poems; a souvenir booklet of the Panama Pacific Exposition (1915); and genealogical information on the Koontz, Graves, Stocking, Guy, Snyder, Dolan, Brown and Bageant families.

Two personal diaries of R.E. McCabe of Charleston, West Virginia, containing notes on trips to Europe (1924) and California (1937). On the California trip he briefly describes Kansas City, Boulder, Denver, Santa Fe, Taos, and Los Angeles, muses on real estate values, and notes oil rigs and pipelines. There is a short genealogy of the Hayward family. The diaries also include references to the Ward, Fleming, Brooks, and Watson families. Also includes photographs of members of the Ward, Fleming, Brooks, and Watson families.
