This collection consists of one diary containing thoughts transcribed by an unknown author during a 1982 trip to Asia, with trips to Thailand, India, and Hong Kong. The author comments on the scenery and the locals. Much of the diary concerns Les — the author's significant other and travel companion who left as tensions rose between them. The author's travels, thoughts, and interactions with locals are increasingly bitter and lonely after Les departed. The seller of the diary alludes that the author and Les were lesbian partners but this has not been confirmed. Only about a third of the diary contains entries.

Advertisements, fliers, form letters, and promotional mailings from LGBT businesses and organizations sent to the Gay and Lesbian Archives located in Falls Church, Virginia. Material includes catalogs for magazine subscriptions, movies, books, and travel agencies; invitations and announcements for LGBT related events; flyers and newsletters from political and religious oriented LGBT groups; and form letters from the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League. Many of the flyers and announcements are for events in the Washington, D.C. area. The Gay and Lesbian Archives of Falls Church, Virginia may be affiliated or also called the Washington, D.C. Gay and Lesbian Archives. Some of the material contains nudity.

The journal of Jym Robear details his struggles to come to terms with two major issues in his life: his identity as a gay man and his mental illness. Some pages include drawings made by Robear.

Five handwritten diaries written from 1978 to 1982. The diaries belonged to John Foster, a Hamilton college student in Schenectady, New York. The diaries cover a period of John's life in which he worked a summer job as a dishwasher at the Sagamore Hotel in Bolten Landing, New York and as he studied abroad in Aberdeen Scotland. Within the diaries, John also ponders his friendships and sexual identification. A single letter is also included in the collection

Collection contains a single ten page letter written during the Civil War by a displaced woman from Georgia named Lou Lumpkin to a woman named Philipina "Rena" McDowell. The letter discusses Lou Lumpkin's current living situation in Virginia and her unrequited feelings of love.

Collection contains correspondence and organization documents related to the everyday activities of the Mattachine Society of Washington D.C. The Mattachine Society is an Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,Transgender, queer (LGBTQ) organization that seeks to conduct original archival research and educational outreach that focuses on LGBTQ legal, political, and policy history.
